The Firm

Our Immigration team has a proven track record in handling both Private and Business Immigration matters for clients across a wide range of industries. We are now looking for an Associate to join our Business Immigration team, offering expert advice and guidance to businesses on a variety of immigration issues, including visa applications, compliance, and workforce mobility.

The Role

As an Associate in the Business Immigration team, you will be responsible for advising corporate clients on a broad range of immigration matters. This will include managing visa applications, advising on compliance with immigration laws, and supporting businesses in the recruitment and relocation of talent from around the world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Advisory: Providing clear, practical, and commercially-focused advice to businesses on business immigration matters, including sponsorship licenses, Skilled Worker visa applications, intra-company transfers, and global mobility strategies.
  • Visa Applications: Preparing and submitting visa applications for both employees and employers, ensuring all submissions comply with relevant immigration laws and guidelines.
  • Immigration Compliance: Advising clients on immigration compliance matters, including guidance on record-keeping, reporting obligations, and audits by the Home Office.
  • Policy Guidance: Assisting businesses with developing immigration policies, helping them navigate changing immigration laws, and ensuring ongoing compliance with UK and international regulations.
  • Business Development: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, proactively identifying new business opportunities, and supporting the firm’s business development activities.
  • Case Management: Managing your own caseload, ensuring that clients are kept up-to-date, deadlines are met, and matters are handled efficiently.
  • Cross-Border Advice: Providing support on international immigration matters, including advising clients on obtaining visas for their employees in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Client Relationships: Developing relationships with clients and external stakeholders, offering strategic advice to HR departments, businesses, and multinational companies.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: A qualified solicitor with at least 2years (PQE) in Business Immigration.
  • Expertise: Strong knowledge of Business Immigration, including Visas, Sponsorship, Compliance, and the points-based immigration system.
  • Client-Focused: A practical, client-oriented approach with a clear understanding of the business impact of immigration decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines while ensuring compliance with immigration regulations.
  • Business Development: A proactive approach to client management and business development, with the ability to build strong client relationships and grow the firm’s immigration practice.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a varied and busy caseload.
